Alephonsion Deng Visit and Faces of South Sudan Exhibit - November 26-28, 2012

In November 2012, Alephonsion Deng, Lost Boy of Sudan and co-author, They Poured Fire On Us From The Sky, travelled to Stillwater from San Diego, California to provide an evening public presentation for the Stillwater community and to talk with 300+ Geography students in classrooms. The event featured a selection of photos from Faces of South Sudan, taken by Fargo, ND resident Deb Dawson. Faces of South Sudan was exhibited November 28-December 22, 2012 at ArtReach St. Croix.
Exhibits were provided by H2O For Life, African Soul, American Heart, Books For Africa, Bantfwana Phambili and the Minnesota Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. Valley Bookseller offered a broad selection of books about the Lost Boys of Sudan. Alepho's visit was made possible by Stillwater District #834. Lodging generously provided by the Water Street Inn.
