Kuoth Wiel Visit - Tuesday, October 27, 2015

On Tuesday, October 27th, Kuoth Wiel, South Sudanese actress, model and activist on behalf of refugees and human rights, travelled to Stillwater from Los Angeles, California to speak with 175 AP Human Geography and Global Studies students in the classroom and participate in an evening screening of The Good Lie for the Stillwater community.

Informational exhibits were provided by the American Refugee Committee, Books For Africa, Bantfwana Phambili, H2O for Life, Peace Corps Midwest, Stillwater Area High School Key Club and the Stillwater Human Rights Commission . A selection of books about the Lost Boys of Sudan and refugee issues were offered for sale, courtesy of Valley Bookseller .
