In November 2010 Benson Deng, Lost Boy of Sudan and co-author of They Poured Fire On Us From The Sky, travelled to Stillwater from San Diego, California to provide an evening public presentation for the Stillwater community and to talk with 300+ Geography students in classrooms.

Books were sold by Valley Bookseller and t-shirts by H2O For Life. Benson's visit was made possible by a grant from the Partnership Plan for Stillwater Schools and District #834 Diversity Funds. Lodging was generously provided by the Water Street Inn.
